Famous for BBQ and beef, Kansas City Metropolitan contains some of the best culinary finds in the U.S. Diamonds in the rough, these restaurants offer a variety of tastes and experiences to suit any palate.

The Farmhouse
Eat and buy local! Enjoy a lunch or dinner experience with Zeb, Dutch, and Chico along with all locally grown produce and free-range meats. The Farmhouse conjures an array of truly decadent experience for all. We certainly cannot get enough of this good stuff!

Happy Gillis
Through the twists and turns of Columbus Park resides this small and unique bistro. Delicious and suprising combinations of the locally grown types places Happy Gillis around the top of our charts. If you do not know what it is that is on the menu, order it anyway. You will not be disappointed. We enjoy the Banh Mi very much!

West Side Local
Slow food supporters, this quirky, artsy place provide a fantastic experience with choice meats and vegetables. Everything is made from scratch down to their decadent catsup, which is something we rarely will eat. Favorites include the Monana chicken and braunschweiger sandwich, the grilled cheese, and the braised rib stroganoff. Be sure to hang in tbeir garten and take in some nice local brews and some great sounds!

The Webster House
Consistently well-done, the Webster House is located in a school-house on the second floor. Offering a great happy hour selection and lunch menu, this restaurant is consistent in service and offerings. The BEST pineapple upside down cake ever is here!

Oklahoma Joe’s
No wonder these guys have won not only the American Royal more than once, but several national competitions as well.
This tiny place is located in a gas station just East of Midtown and prepares one of our favorites, the beef Carolinas served with famous sauce and spicy slaw. Go early, they are generally packed.

Annedore's Fine Chocolates
Handmade, always scrumptious and local ingredients. Annedore's continues to amaze us with quirky confections and some of the best chocolate in KC. We definitely recommend the spicy Aztec bar.

Fish and chips with spicy slaw is our favorite with a black and tan.
PIZZA

SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza
Excellent atmosphere and we tend to favor their SALSICCIACON MELA (Italian sausag, green apples, crushed glazed pecans, provolone cheese and drizzled with olive oil.) Simple yet sooooo deliziosi! The spinach salad is equally awesome; Fresh baby spinach, criminis, Italian bacon, caramelized onions, roasted grape tomatoes, glazed pecans, and goat cheese. Finished with a Chianti vinaigrette. YUM!

d'Bronx
Best NYC style pizza yet in KC and their sandwiches are pretty tasty as well. May we suggest the Nappoli. d'Bronx even serves a 30 inch pizza for big get togethers. Remember to pick up some authentic Black and Whites while you are there!

Restaurant Salvadoreno El Pulgarcito
Don't let the bullet holes fool you. This tiny 12 table diner sports the best Salvadorian fare we've had to date. If you cannot speak Spanish, it's okay, although you won't be speaking to anyone but the waitress. We certainly enjoy everything they have on the menu and the papusas are the best with spicy slaw and fresh tomato juice. Of course, there exists no Web site although we have
directions.

Café Des Amis
Fantastic for brunch, this café is located in Parkville and offers a great wine list, simple yet flavorful entrees. May we suggest the black truffle scrambled eggs. Scrumptious.
MIDDLE EASTERN/MEDITERRANEAN

Al Habashi
Located at the famous Kansas City River Market, we can sum this up in one word, Schwarma. The most fantastic schwarma and tumeric rice we’ve had to date. Remember to visit their market next door.

Taj Palace
The best tandoori dishes we’ve had to date. There is a definite craft working with an 800 degree oven and their chefs have it down pat. The naan is always fresh. Service is quirky but sincere.

The pan-fried pork dumplings are a favorite, especially with their secret awesome sauce. We must say, it IS truly awesome.

Garlic rolls, volcano rolls, and a sincere recommendation for Saki from the owner makes dining here a great experience. We don't know what happened to their Web site however

Do yourself a favor and chow down on a bleu cheese stuffed burger and remember to order some of their truffle fries and most delicious onion rings.

Good´s Candies
You simply cannot beat these candies. Hand-made, hand-dipped chocolate treasures all from scratch. Located in Kennard, IN (you will need a map if you plan to visit), this seventh generation of the original Lowry family at Good´s Candies offers more than chocolate delights. Try some home-made peanut brittle or toffee! Cold-packed and shipped, Good´s Candies are worth every penny although are only open from October 1 through Mother´s Day every year. Better stock up!

Oh my how lovely the food at the Rathskeller. Jaegerschnitzel, stuffed filet mignon, cooked cabbage, herbed dill bread, and sweet baby carrots. With a beer list a mile long, nmjoy the Bier Garten with live entertainment.

Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club
Don´t let the name fool you. This Kentucky-fried floating dock is hitched to the shore and purely Kentucky in all manners. Serving all grilled foods
from their wood- and charcoal-fired grills, the Yacht Club serves fantastic pork chops and drinks galore. Only open from May through October, the Yacht Club
appears not to have a Web site, but we
found directions. If by chance you are driving by, just look for a large shark on pole.

Oh, this is the best Bul Go Gi ever. This restaurant is very small, with great service and fabulous Korean food. We urge reservations.
